Gymnastics

On the 10th of November 2013 our Gymnastics team and their Coaches Mary, Linda and Annette went to Beaudesert Gymnastics Club for the Womens' Artistic Gymnastics (WAG)  level 1 to 5 and Mens' Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) level 1 competition.

Level 2 received first, second and third overall placings. Level 3 received overall first, second and third overall placings. Level 4 received second overall and level 5 second overall.

MAG Boys did very well and we are very proud of their efforts and how they competed on the day. Annette was a very happy coach with their outcome. The boys received second overall in the final placings taking our club to the top and receiving the trophy for the best club on the day.

Thank you to Mary our head coach, Linda second in charge and Annette for the hard work and commitment that they have put into the training.  I would also like to thank the parents whom traveled so far for this competition.  It was fantastic to come away with success and such a great result.

Blue Light Discos at PCYC Gold Coast.

Our Blue Light Discos are generally held the second Friday of each month with a break during January each year.  They are very popular with around three hundred children attending.  We have plenty of supervision with off duty police and civilian volunteers at every event.  We also have a team of 60 young volunteers who are doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award who come along to ensure everyone is having a good time.

Our next disco is "End of Year Celebrations" with a party room put aside for Grade 7 to socialise in and meet others who might be changing schools.

The cost is normally $7 but as our Christmas gift to you this disco is only $5.  Why not let us watch the kids while you enjoy a nice meal out in peace.

South Sydney Rabbitohs Training at the Gold Coast PCYC

What a FANTASTIC morning for all the Gold Coast PCYC staff and members, we had the pleasure of watching the South Sydney Rabbitohs training in our very  own gym.

They came in 2 groups with their trainers and staff and had an awesome workout.

The guys were super friendly towards our members, and were very happy and willing to have photos taken for our club.

We are proud to be a part of the South Sydney Rabbitohs home away from home training facility.

GOOD LUCK FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON

Jailhouse Rock Blue Light Disco

The Gold Coast Police-Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) proudly presents this months themed disco JAILHOUSE ROCK.  The theme is to remind everyone of our clubs fundraiser Time4kids held during National Youth Week.

PCYC's across Queensland will be locking up members of the local communities and bail will be raised to set them free.  The money donated will help raise funds for Police youth crime prevention programs and for urgently needed equipment in the local clubs.

This year the Gold Coast PCYC is heading to Carrara Markets on the 13th of April 2013 between 8am - 4pm to lock up local dignitaries to raise much needed funds for Youth Programs on the Gold Coast.  We will be locking up a well know news reader, a radio announcer, a politician and many other well known locals.  If you want to donate your time and fundraise for PCYC you can join the team with the password "goldcoast" at the following link or you can make a donation.

Vocal Buzz - New singing group at PCYC

The Gold Coast PCYC has a new singing group and numbers are looking good.

We have two classes, one for ages 6 to 12 years and one for 13 years and over.

If you give your children the basic singing skills now, who knows where their dreams will take them.  Perhaps a lifetime of singing and performing.

Singing coaching builds self esteem, confidence and it makes us happy.  People around the world are addicted to Karaoke and many of us can't even carry a tune.

I hope you trust us with your children and come into the Gold Coast PCYC for your Singing coaching.

Come into the club and mention this blog for a free children's membership valued at $20.  This offer is valid until the 30th of March 2013.
