KG Hip Hop Dance Party Review.

Pictured above in the center is Hip Hop performer KG.  Below him in the light blue dress is Tiahni Wilton  surrounded by her guests at her 16th Birthday Party, which was held on Saturday Night at the KG Hip Hop Dance Party.

This event was supervised by Police and PCYC volunteers, some are also in the above picture. A great night was had by all, KG's performance was outstanding and we've received requests to put on another Dance Party soon. Tiahni Wilton and some of her friends amazed us by performing with KG and they were impressive. So impressive that we have asked Tiahni and her team of friends to return and perform for the Junior Blue Light Disco on the 14th of September 2012.

Tiahni impressed me so much that I asked her mother for Tiahni's story.  I want to be the first to say I found her, but it sounds like she has impressed many people already.  Thanks for entertaining us Tiahni and we look forward to helping you with your career.

Here is Tiahni's story.

Tiahni Jade Wilton, age 16, started dancing at the age of 3 after doing Baby Gymnastics for 3 years, she started at 9mths old!  She was very good at Trampoline and Bar then she told me she wanted to work on her fitness, so I took her to PCYC Ashmore and she started ballet & jazz with Miss Jolie who still remembers her.  Tiahni had to stop when she started school as we had no car and we couldn't get there in time for lessons. She restarted  Dance Lessons again in Grade 2 at Ustar Dance School and was there for 3 years and she
had only been there for a few weeks when she was asked to join their Performance Group.  The very first time she was to go on stage, she quit the group, her teacher was devastated as she seemed to love it.  When questioned she said she couldn't dance in front of everyone.  I told her I would be in the audience she could just dance for me - and so the love of performing on stage began.

She has been at a few different dance schools always in their Performance Groups including Showbiz Express, Sheridans Studio 1 where she met her singing teacher and Dance Technique. Whilst performing at school in 2010 for her Dance Night she finished with a severe back pain which has finally been diagnosed as Scoliosis.  She has been under treatment for over a year now which keeps her out of pain and mobile enough to dance, she had to have a year off dance so we concentrated on her singing and she started to go to NAPA in their Musical Theatre group and she is now in their Performance Group.

She has also danced at school since Year 5, they even made it a sport at Ashmore Primary entering the Eisteddfods and Dance Education competitions.  I believe this was due to Tiahni inspiring about 50 other girls to join the Dance Group with some of them continuing to dance today.  Tiahni won a Scholarship for Benowa High and has continued to be in their Dance groups and has performed in every School Musical since Grade 4. Her love of singing started in the Musical Theatre Group at Ustar and Choir at Ashmore State School and has continued her love of Choir in High School. She has performed in every Musical starting in the choir Ensemble in Honk, Dancer in High School Musical 2, Dancer in Footloose, and a DooWop in Return to the Forbidden planet, in the last school holidays she did the Raise Your Voice Workshop where she won the Senior Scholarship for next year, she has also recently auditioned for and just found out she will be singing and dancing in the Ensemble for Camp Rock the musical which will be at the Coomera Tafe early in October 2012

She is a gentle spirit that has a love of people, she won't walk past anyone that is hurt or upset without offering her help.  She has never smoked and says she never will, she doesn't drink and she says she can do that later - right now she wants to enjoy being a child as she only has a couple of years left to do that. She has the ability to inspire people to be better mostly through her own honesty and sweetness, she is know for always being happy and smiling and considering the amount of pain she has been in for the last 2 years with her back I think that says it all.

Her dream is to perform, she wants to do it all - Sing, Dance, Musical Theatre, TV and Movies and I have no doubt that she will reach her dreams. Remi Broadway is her acting coach, he told her he would only coach
her if she was serious about what she was doing, he is very impressed with her drive, determination and talent as is her singing teacher Emily Hosking.
