KG is an ARIA top 40 chart, Melbourne-based, Hip Hop & R ‘n B artist.
With the imminent release of his debut
solo album, KG has spent the past couple of years building himself as a
solo artist and working on his canon of material. During the course of his
short solo career, KG has performed with artists such as Wynter Gordon, Bruno Mars, Brian McFadden, Jason Derulo, Jessica
Mauboy, Bone Thugs ‘n Harmony, Joe, Guy Sebastian and Montell Jordan. His debut single, Everybody In The Club, the video for which has received much love
online and on broadcasters such as MTV
& Channel V, is included on KG’s
first mixtape, “In My Thoughts”, which was released online in mid-July 2011.
The mixtape, which features 17 tracks, majority of which are original songs, is
said to be a taster of things to come
KG is
currently working with former Westlife member and Australia’s
Got Talent judge, Brian McFadden,
on tracks for his upcoming debut album. Also collaborating with the pair is
acclaimed American producer and songwriter, Rob Conley. Conley is known for his work with KISS, Destiny’s Child, Celine Dion, Darren Hayes and McFadden
himself, amongst others. The trio will share the song writing and production
responsibilities. KG will also be featuring on three tracks on McFadden’s upcoming album, which is due
to be released in late 2011. The pair performed McFadden’s upcoming single, “Come Party”, on Channel 7’s Sunrise in
June 2011.
It was not until high school
that KG decided to start his first hip hop group. KG, along with best friend
Shaka, formed the group KASH. The group moved to Melbourne to pursue their career and were
soon signed to indie label, Nufirm Records. Their debut album, The Birth was produced by Australian R
‘n B vocalist, Israel ,
and was distributed by SonyBMG. The group toured Australia on the back of their
successful single, Move It.
