Kids Bootcamp

For children everywhere, it is easy to become stimulated by the various technology and other things that are around them.  For some, it may seem like a struggle to tear your child away from the technology that is so available and ready for them.  If you want to make sure that your child is receiving a well-rounded childhood, then there are options that you can consider in order to make sure that they benefit from being young.

With all of the abilities for youth to stay indoors, it is best to begin to show them that being outdoors can be just as beneficial.  Playing sports will not only help them to get the activities that there body needs, but will help them to keep the ideal of staying shape in mind when they are older.  It is becoming more common for children and youth to grow up overweight or obese, even from the age of five.  The problem is becoming so prevalent, that several children are having problems such as type two diabetes and asthma.

No matter what age your child is, they should be getting some type of physical activity every day.  It doesn't need to be anything vigorous, but should be something to get them moving and away from the easier stimulation in front of the television or Internet.  If your child is moving for at least thirty minutes a day, it will prevent the problems that children are growing up to have with their health.  By having something where the child is being encouraged to move around and is doing it with their peers, it will be easier to build a foundation for good physical health through activity.

If you are interested in your child staying healthy, then making sure that they play sports will give you the ability to become substantial in what they need for their physical health.  It will first prevent complications in their current health, beginning with obesity, and going into more severe problems.  Making sure that they stay physically healthy will also stay with them for the rest of their lives, making sure that they understand the importance of moving throughout the day.

The Gold Coast PCYC Junior Bootcamp increases physical fitness and better health, also promotes team work, communication skills, lateral thinking, self confidence and leadership skills.  Poor co-ordination and/or poor ball skills (whether perceived or actual) are often the cause of children shying away from physical activity. Junior Boot Camp allows children to improve their co-ordination, cardio-vascular fitness, strength, endurance through participation in military inspired activities.
But don't worry ... there is no yelling, whistle blowing or gun play, just motivational and challenging activities to get your children moving and enjoying being active.

Don't miss the next Primary School Age Blue Light Disco on Friday the 11th of May 2012.

Come dress in Hollywood theme to win great prizes compliments of Mikes Bikes Miami, Birch Carroll and Coyle and McDonalds.

Blue Light Discos are supervised by Police and civilian volunteers.   Once inside the building children are not allowed out until they are collected by an adult.   The disco is 7pm to 9.30pm which is perfectly timed so that parents can go out and have a relaxing meal without the kids.  It is cheap babysitting at just $7 for the night.

Some parents choose to stay until the kids settle into the environment.  We encourage everyone to bring their friends as the more friends they have, the more fun they have.

Our DJ is very entertaining and the photos taken as people enter the event are put on the big screen at the end of the night.

Our best photos at this disco will go on this blog so please let me know if you don't want your photo put on display.

So get into theme and dress to impress as you walk the red carpet to the Gold Coast PCYC Hollywood style.

If you have any questions at all please give us a ring at Gold Coast PCYC, 55385201 or call in at the Club -180 Monaco Street, Broadbeach Waters.

Thank you to Subway Broadbeach and Dominos Pizza for supporting our volunteers.

Time 4 Kids - PCYC Fundraiser

Gold Coast PCYC, Ashmore PCYC and Nerang PCYC joined together in a State wide PCYC fundraiser Time 4 Kids on Friday the 20th of April 2012 in the Broadbeach Mall.  We had a great time locking up local dignitaries and celebraties and holding them in a cell until they could make bail.  Some knew a head of time and were able to plan their day.  Others like Spida Everitt from 92.5 Gold FM had no idea what was going on when three police attended his workplace unannounced to take him away.

It's not to late to donate to your local PCYC.  All money raised goes to Crime Prevention programs in your area.
